Succession to the Crown Bill

My Lords, can I persuade my noble friend not to press this Motion at this moment? I am not remotely trying to obstruct the progress of this measure, but I rather think that the Bill would be better considered in a Select Committee. If my noble friend would be willing to put off pressing this Motion until, say, Monday, that would give us an opportunity to consider the possibility.
