Crime and Courts Bill [HL]

Proceeding contribution from Lord McNally (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Lords on Monday, 10 December 2012. It occurred during Debate on bills on Crime and Courts Bill [HL].

My Lords, I will clarify a point raised by the noble Lord, Lord Pannick. The Justice Committee in Northern Ireland recently agreed to proceed with an amendment to its Criminal Justice Bill that would see this offence repealed. I am sure that

the words uttered by the noble and learned Lord, Lord Carswell, about his own experience will carry great weight. However, this is a devolved matter for Northern Ireland.
