Social Care

Proceeding contribution from Lord Mackinlay of Richborough (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 25 October 2017. It occurred during Opposition day on Social Care.

I am always very impressed by the hon. Lady’s knowledge in this area, but just to clarify, did I hear her say that she was considering wealth taxes as a means to pay for these proposals? She talked about a policy vacuum, but I would be interested to hear where the money vacuum is

going to come from. I am also somewhat concerned—I hope she will explain this—that a national care system rather puts families aside.
