Recall of MPs Bill

Proceeding contribution from Daniel Kawczynski (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 21 October 2014. It occurred during Debate on bills on Recall of MPs Bill.

Before the hon. Gentleman was interrupted, he spoke momentarily about what happens when a Member of Parliament defects from one party to another. I feel extremely strongly about this issue. It caused a huge amount of concern in my own constituency when the previous Labour MP defected to the Liberal

Democrats. Does the hon. Gentleman agree that in future the people must always be able to recall a Member of Parliament when he changes sides? People vote for parties, not for individuals.
