Devolution (Scotland Referendum)

Proceeding contribution from Helen Goodman (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 14 October 2014. It occurred during Debate on Devolution (Scotland Referendum).

We share a constituency boundary and the Leader of the House knows, as I do, that our constituents feel that too many decisions are London-centred. They want more power closer to them. Is not the problem with English votes

for English laws that it changes the job description of Members in this House, but does not actually take power nearer to people?
