Crime and Courts Bill [Lords]

Proceeding contribution from Stella Creasy (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 13 March 2013. It occurred during Debate on bills on Crime and Courts Bill [Lords].

Given the Minister’s open, earnest and welcome admission that he cannot answer the questions raised today and that the spirit of our amendment 2 is precisely to get at that information, will he set tell the House when we will have that information about the implementation of the offence and the ability of our police forces and courts to deal with it? After all, our amendment calls for information one year after the introduction of the offence, which seems a reasonable

amount of time to expect police forces to deal with it, so can he explicitly set out for the House when he expects to report back on these issues?
