Common Agricultural Policy

Proceeding contribution from Huw Irranca-Davies (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 1 November 2012. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Common Agricultural Policy.

Will the Minister return to the point that I raised about the Commission’s impact assessment suggesting that the current proposals would add about 50% to the costs? He can extrapolate from that to complexity and bureaucracy as well. Is it his intention that the final outcome of the negotiations will entail no increase in complexity or costs to farmers, or will he accept some complexity if that is the only way to finalise negotiations?
