Common Agricultural Policy

Proceeding contribution from Neil Parish (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 1 November 2012. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Common Agricultural Policy.

My hon. Friend is absolutely right about the set-aside argument. Do we actually get value for money in greening with set-aside, counterbalancing the

fact that we are taking out a lot of land that could be used for food production? There is a moral duty to produce food as well as taking land out for so-called environmental set-aside.
