Common Agricultural Policy

Proceeding contribution from George Eustice (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 1 November 2012. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Common Agricultural Policy.

I completely accept that point, but does my hon. Friend agree that for any other goods, and in any other part of the single market, state aid rules, which the European Court of Justice enforces, prevent

that from happening? It would be possible to have an agricultural policy with common objectives, but delivered nationally, with those state aid rules to prevent the sort of behaviour he mentioned.
