Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what consideration she gave to appointing a representative of the National Union of Students to the board of the Office of Students; and for what reasons she decided against doing so.

Answer

Schedule 1 of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017 sets out the criteria for the composition of the Office for Students board. The criteria was extensively debated by Parliament during the Bill – I refer the hon.
