Welfare Reform Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Grayling (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 1 February 2012. It occurred during Debate on bills on Welfare Reform Bill.
I will to talk in more detail about cancer, which is one of the measures we are addressing. I accept that there are anxieties in respect of cancer, but the approach that we are taking to all our reforms, and particularly those relating to sickness and disability, is that we should not write off automatically any individual with a particular condition. Applying a one-size-fits-all measure to any one condition is the wrong thing to do.
