Welfare Reform Bill

Proceeding contribution from Baroness Meacher (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Tuesday, 17 January 2012. It occurred during Debate on bills on Welfare Reform Bill.
I thank the noble Baroness, Lady Finlay, and the noble Lord, Lord McKenzie, for contributing to this short debate. This amendment was tabled very late and others have not had a chance to catch up with the thrust of the argument. I thank the Minister for his reply, although I doubt that the considerable number of people who will be losing out as a result of this provision will be very reassured by his response. I do, of course, understand—at least in general terms—the thrust of the Government’s commitment to focus resources on those most severely disabled. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment 50ZGA withdrawn. Clause 77 : Daily Living Component Amendment 50ZGB Clause 77 : Daily Living Component Amendment 50ZGB Moved by
