Welfare Reform Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Freud (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 14 December 2011. It occurred during Debate on bills on Welfare Reform Bill.
I am utterly shocked. Let me keep going; the hour is late and I am forgetting what I am talking about very quickly. Turning to Amendment 28, we will impose reasonable requirements, taking into account the claimant’s particular circumstances, including any health condition or disability. Universal credit claimants with a health condition or disability that limits their capability for work will not be required to look for work. There are specific safeguards in this area. Decision-makers must consider any relevant matter raised by the claimant when considering whether there is good reason for a failure.
