Welfare Reform Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Freud (Conservative) in the House of Lords on Wednesday, 26 October 2011. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Welfare Reform Bill.
As I say, that will depend on the particular circumstances of that family. That is the point I am endeavouring to make. I would like to finish with the point about the cost to the claimant of being employed. That is an issue that we are going to pick up in later amendments so I will not go into it in great detail. However, we recognise the need to take account of those employment costs, and I will pick that up more generally later.
