Child Poverty Bill

Proceeding contribution from Lord Northbourne (Crossbench) in the House of Lords on Thursday, 21 January 2010. It occurred during Debate on bills and Committee proceeding on Child Poverty Bill.
My Lords, I support the noble Baroness’s amendment because it is important not only that the appointment should be independent but that it should be seen to be independent by the public and not only by those of us who know how the machinery works.
