European Affairs

Proceeding contribution from Baroness Stuart of Edgbaston (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 16 June 2009. It occurred during Debate on European Affairs.
At least the Irish have been given a second chance to have a say. The Dutch and the French, who also said no the first time, have lost the right to have a say. It is therefore imperative for the Conservatives to give a clear commitment that, whatever the circumstances, they would give the people a say. It would be really good to hear that right now.
