Welfare Reform Bill

I was not aware of that particular exchange yesterday. I have some data on the availability of childcare, which I will come to in a moment. Perhaps at this point I should make it absolutely clear that if appropriate childcare is not available, there could be no sanctions on a parent for not adopting a certain course of action. That will always be the case. In answer to the noble Lord, Lord Skelmersdale, if it was accepted that there was appropriate childcare provision at the start and then something happened down the line to change that, the requirements of the action plan could be adjusted. There is scope to revisit the arrangements in the light of those changes.
