Amendment 79 79: After Clause 7, insert the following new Clause— "Reports of Electoral Commission (1) Where the Electoral Commission makes a report to the Secretary of State under the provisions of section 6 of the 2000 Act, the Secretary of State shall respond in writing within a period of six months from the day of the publication of the report. (2) If for any reason the Secretary of State is unable to respond within the period stipulated in subsection (1), he shall inform the Electoral Commission of that fact, and the reasons for it, no later than the day on which the response was due."
