moved Amendment No. 27: 27: Clause 2, page 1, line 12, after ““excluding”” insert— ““(i) Article 1, paragraph 58, inserting a new Article 49A TEU, relating to withdrawal from the Union; and (ii) ”” The noble Lord said: It is the fluffy end of the lollipop—Lord Pearson of Rannoch. My noble friends and I tabled this amendment to cancel the new arrangements in the treaty for a country to withdraw from the European Union. Our reason for doing so is that the new procedure appears to make it more difficult to leave the EU than at present.
