Perhaps I may ask the Minister a simple question, which he may wish to answer after today. Did ACAS, in view of its 100 years’ experience, suggest or ask for mediation to operate more in employment disputes? Alternative dispute resolution is now an industry and a very good one where it applies successfully; namely, in things like financial services and commercial law, where I have some experience of its work.
