Employment Bill [HL]

I am grateful to the Minister for his response. I appreciate that the regulations that he referred to deal with part of the peril for the employee that the amendment was intended to deal with. However, it does not deal with the other situation in which someone is subject to a disciplinary or grievance procedure in relation to an event that has made them ill and in relation to which they are timed out on making an application to a tribunal. That is the practical difficulty that often arises in harassment cases. I will read with interest in Hansard what the Minister said, and I am glad that we had the opportunity to air the issue. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. Clause 4 [Determination of proceedings without hearing]:
