Children and Young Persons Bill [HL]

So we have moved on somewhat from the discussions that took place in 2004 and we are all modern and up to date. I gave the reason why the amendment was rejected on the previous occasion. As long as we have moved on, I shall leave it at that. I want to read in detail what has been said. I am very glad that at least the structure is there; I am less happy about the fact that that will be complied with in a way that means that, when the green baize door has been shut, the children are very much a part of what happens within the local authority’s views, resources and so on. However, for the moment I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn. [Amendments Nos. 52 and 53 not moved.]
