Children and Young Persons Bill [HL]

First, I thank the Minister for wishing me a happy birthday. It was not published in the paper. Kate Moss’s birthday was published, but not mine; I cannot think why. I could not think of nicer company to spend my birthday with. We welcome Amendment No. 48. If a local authority makes arrangements for a child’s accommodation and this, for whatever reason, ceases to have effect, it is only right that it should be reviewed. It is often young people in this transitional phase who step through the cracks of care provision. We think that extending the review mechanism to apply to young people of up to the age of 21 would help to prevent this from happening.
