Climate Change

Proceeding contribution from Ian Pearson (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 8 May 2007. It occurred during Opposition day on Climate Change.
I agree entirely. As I mentioned, a sum of money has been allocated to help improve the greenness of our schools. I have visited a number of schools that already have wind turbines and solar panels fitted as standard. As we roll out our building schools for the future programme, we need to make sure that the new buildings being constructed are low or zero carbon emitters, if at all possible. In addition, they must be well adapted for the climate change that, to a certain degree, we are bound to face in the future.
