Prevention and Suppression of Terrorism

I want to make some progress before I give way. As the hon. Member for Sheffield, Hallam (Mr. Clegg) has made very clear, our time is limited. It was interesting to note that the hon. Gentleman had no answer to the intervention from my hon. Friend the Member for West Bromwich, East (Mr. Watson), other than to express the plaintive hope that somehow evidence would be found against the 18 people currently under control orders and that public safety would prevail.
