Commons Bill [HL]

moved, as an amendment to Commons Amendment No. 86, Amendment No. 86A?: "86A: Clause 39, line 1, after ““limit”” insert ““and timetable””" The noble Lord said: My Lords, the amendment would ensure that works do not occur at the last minute, although the Minister went some way to ensure that that does not happen. Those of us who have watched works commence, followed by inactivity for great lengths of time, have been extremely frustrated by that. If a timetable had to be submitted when the application for the original consent was made, perhaps that problem could be overcome. This is our only amendment to the entire Bill and it would ensure that the procedure would be a bit more businesslike. I beg to move.
