Pensions Reform

Proceeding contribution from Anne Begg (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 27 June 2006. It occurred during Adjournment debate on Pensions Reform.
I have heard the hon. Gentleman make this argument on a number of occasions. What would he say to the constituent to whom I spoke on Saturday, who complained about having to pay tax on her pension? I explained that the money was tax free when it was paid into her pension, but under the SNP proposal, that money would be taxed when it goes in and, presumably, taxed when it goes out.
