As the question of loans has been raised I simply cannot resist the invitation given me by the Minister’s earlier reference to a £100,000 debt being paid by Pembrokeshire County Council. It is actually paying off a loan that I negotiated 27 years ago, following the collapse of the Cleddau bridge. I should be very interested to know how much of that loan, which was rather important at the time, remains outstanding 27 years later. That may test the resources of the Minister’s advisers but history demands that we should know exactly what has happened over the 27 years.
