Commons Bill [HL]

With due respect to the noble Earl—I do not wish to prolong the debate—the example he has given is very often common knowledge. The auctioneer and companies advertise widely—indeed, a notice may be planted on the land or the estate which is to be sold—and the farming community know all about it. There is a market in the sales of lord of the manorships but they are advertised in places such as London, well away from where the action takes place. I pray in aid that fact in my argument.
