Commissioner for Older People (Wales) Bill [HL]

My Lords, I am grateful to the Minister for his answer and for the two government amendments that we have welcomed. I am also grateful to the noble Lord, Lord Roberts of Conwy, for speaking well of our amendment. Possibly the best thing we can achieve tonight is to see how the Commissioner for Older People is effective in the first two or three years. If we see that we then need to reinforce his powers with obligation rather than discretion, we can visit this matter again. The Government of Wales Act means that we will have to look at many Bills in the future, including perhaps this one. I beg leave to withdraw the amendment. Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
