High Speed Rail (London-West Midlands) Bill

The noble Lord said that this mined tunnel would not, in effect, make much difference as far as the journey is concerned. Would he be interested in knowing—I have just been assured by an expert that these facts are correct—that out of the 210 kilometres of the high-speed line, no less than 47 kilometres are already in tunnels? If he does not mind me saying so, that is more than enough.
