Embryology

Written question asked by Lord Alton of Liverpool (Crossbench) on Friday, 1 February 2013, in the House of Lords. It was answered by Earl Howe (Conservative) on Friday, 1 February 2013.

Question

To ask Her Majesty’s Government, further to the Written Answers by Earl Howe on 8 January 2013 (WA 24–6) and 20 July 2011 (WA 305–6), why the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority was not able to provide further information in the answer of 8 January to that supplied on 20 July 2011; whether any admixed embryos have been generated since the 155 mentioned in the answer of 20 July 2011; and, if so, how many.[HL4774]

Answer

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority has advised that it was not able to provide further information because no human admixed embryos have been created since the Written Answer I gave the noble Lord on 20 July 2011 (Official Report, col. WA 305-6).
