Russia Sanctions Legislation

Proceeding contribution from James Cleverly (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 10 February 2022. It occurred during Urgent question on Russia Sanctions Legislation.

My hon. Friend is absolutely right. There are incredibly important principles at stake here, and the UK and our international friends and allies are

making a statement to Russia in clear and unambiguous terms that we expect it to abide by the commitments that it has previously made to respect the territorial integrity of another sovereign state and to de-escalate and step back from the aggressive posture that it has taken. If it does not, my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary is making clear that there will be repercussions.
