Police Funding Settlement

Proceeding contribution from Nick Hurd (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 13 December 2018. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Police Funding Settlement.

The hon. Gentleman will know that this is a settlement for England and Wales. To his point, it is designed to help police and crime commissioners to manage the very real cost pressures that they face while

giving them the space to continue their plans to recruit additional officers and fill key capability gaps. Our priority is to help the police to increase their capacity and to do an even better job in responding to increases in demand. That is the full intention of this settlement.
