Budget Resolutions

Proceeding contribution from Stephen Timms (Labour) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 1 November 2018. It occurred during Budget debate on Budget Resolutions.

I want to take the Secretary of State back to what he said about the position the Government found themselves in in 2010, when of course, his former right hon. Friend, George Osborne, promised to eradicate the deficit by 2015.

They failed to do that, and now there is no target date at all in the Budget for eradicating the deficit. Why that dramatic change?
