The following is an extract from a Westminster Hall debate on the Welfare Reform and Work Act on 21 March 2018.

The employment rate for women stands at 70.9%, which is also a record high. Unemployment is down to the joint lowest level since 1975, and 876,000 vacancies are open to people in search of employment, which is also close to a record high.
