British Armed Forces: Size and Strength

Proceeding contribution from Dan Jarvis (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 24 January 2018. It occurred during Debate on British Armed Forces: Size and Strength.

I am sorry to hear that, if it is the case. We will hear about that from the Minister later.

To conclude, emerging cyber and information threats have not and will not result in the decline of conventional threats; the opening up of new fronts does not mean the closing down of old ones; and threat mitigation is not a zero-sum game. As such, I very much hope that the Government will ensure that we do not reduce the number of men and women who serve in our armed forces with such distinction any further. I very much look forward to working with Members across the

House to ensure that the Government do not make any further cuts, specifically to the size and structure of our armed forces.
