Points of Order

Proceeding contribution from Cheryl Gillan (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 23 March 2016. It occurred during Points of order on Points of Order.

Further to that point of order, Mr Speaker, and to the courteous contribution from the Dispatch Box by the Minister of State, I would like to confirm that I did object to the sittings motion, but in discussions with the business managers I was informed that if I objected on the second night, the matter would have come back today and eaten into our debating time. That would have course have been completely self-defeating. I think the point was made on the first day when the objection was made, and the Minister should really understand the procedure in that sense.
