Finance Bill

Proceeding contribution from Bernard Jenkin (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Monday, 26 October 2015. It occurred during Debate on bills on Finance Bill.

In response to the hon. Lady’s intervention, is not the point that there are so many issues we want our Prime Minister to raise in the European Union? There is an increasing number of myriad issues, such as how much contribution we make, the free movement of people and how we control our borders. It is these little

things—I say “little” mistakenly, because of course it looms large as an equality item in our minds—that get set aside in favour of other things. This is a rotten way of running a continent.
