Finance Bill

Proceeding contribution from Andrew Gwynne (Labour) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 21 July 2015. It occurred during Debate on bills on Finance Bill.

I commend my hon. Friend and the shadow Treasury team, because that particular lock would have not have been introduced were it not for the valiant efforts of Labour Front Benchers in the run-up to the last general election in highlighting that the Government would probably have to raise VAT or other taxes. She has already described some of the stealth taxes that have come to fruition since the election.
