Terrorist Attacks (Paris)

Proceeding contribution from Pat McFadden (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 14 January 2015. It occurred during Ministerial statement on Terrorist Attacks (Paris).

Will the Home Secretary join me in rejecting the new imperialism that we hear after incidents such as this, which seeks to condemn the killings but somehow excuse the actions by blaming ourselves—in this case by saying

that the cartoons in Charlie Hebdo were somehow unnecessarily provocative? Does she not agree that we cannot continue to absolve those engaged in terrorism of their responsibility, and that we must agree that responsibility for those actions lies squarely with those who kill innocent people?
