Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change pursuant to his contribution of 18 June 2014, Official Report, column 1191, on energy prices, (1) if he will place in the Library a copy of the Bloomberg new energy finance analysis;

Answer

In the answer I gave to the right hon. Member on 12 May 2014, Official Report, columns 344-5W, I confirmed that a copy of the Bloomberg New Energy Finance analysis of new investment in UK renewable electricity was placed in the Libraries of both Houses. This analysis shows that average annual investment in renewables has more than doubled in this Parliament, compared with the previous one.

I have today also placed the Bloomberg New Energy Finance analysis of new investment in renewable electricity in 2013 in the Libraries of both Houses. This shows that UK had the highest level of renewable investment in Europe in 2013.
