The whole House will have been disturbed by the figures released this week on the under-educational achievement of white working class boys and girls, particularly in attaining five good GCSE levels. May we have a debate on how free schools in particular can bridge the ethnic educational gap and, more broadly, about how we can help parents engage with their children’s education?
