Finance (No. 2) Bill

Proceeding contribution from Jacob Rees-Mogg (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Tuesday, 1 April 2014. It occurred during Debate on bills on Finance (No. 2) Bill.

I am extremely grateful to the hon. Gentleman for giving way to me on behalf of North East Somerset. Is he therefore saying that he believes that the 50p rate is a good thing in and of itself for the symbolism that it brings to bear, even if it does not raise any money?
