Solar Arrays

Proceeding contribution from Sheryll Murray (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 11 July 2013. It occurred during Adjournment debate and Backbench debate on Solar Arrays.

I do not know whether the hon. Lady heard my speech, but I have asked the Minister to confirm that national planning policy guidance will be amended in the same way as that for wind turbines. The guidance in place at the moment is not stopping the increasing use of good, productive farmland for solar arrays. The hon. Lady may not be aware of that because

I believe that she does not represent a rural constituency. It might be good if she went back and tried to find out exactly what was happening in the countryside.
