Debate on the Address

Proceeding contribution from Keith Vaz (Labour) in the House of Commons on Wednesday, 8 May 2013. It occurred during Queen's speech debate on Debate on the Address.

The right hon. Gentleman was of course an outstanding Secretary of State for International Development, and his policies in Yemen ensured that we saved lives there. One of the concerns that we have with Yemen, Syria and other cases is that there can be a gap between what countries pledge at donor conferences

and what they deliver. What can be done, in terms of the G8 presidency, to ensure that those who promise actually deliver on those promises?
