Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport pursuant to the contribution of the Minister of State of 5 November 2012, Official Report, column 690, when she intends to publish the code of practice on the siting of electronic communications infrastructure in national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Answer

The code of best siting practice will apply to all areas where broadband street cabinets and overhead lines need to be installed. The code will be drawn up and agreed by representatives from local authorities and communications providers and published to coincide with the anticipated enactment of the Growth and Infrastructure Bill in the spring of 2013.
