HMS Albion and HMS Bulwark

Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the oral contribution of the Minister of State for Development and Africa during the debate on the Situation in the Red Sea on 24 January, Official Report, column 400, if he will make it his policy that HMS (a) Albion and (b) Bulwark are not (i) mothballed (ii) tied up alongside in the context of the decision not to scrap both vessels.

Answer

It remains the case that no final decisions have been made regarding the future of HMS ALBION and HMS BULWARK. On current plans, both platforms will retire from service by the end of 2034 as originally scheduled.
