Question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, whether his Department plans to release an update to the Defence Security Industrial Strategy (DSIS) 2021 following the publication of the Defence Command Paper Refresh in July 2023.

Answer

The Defence and Security Industrial Strategy (DSIS) was reviewed as part of the development of the Defence Command Paper 'Defence's response to a more contested and volatile world', published on 18 July 2023. The Command Paper recognised the significant progress made since DSIS, alongside further emphasis on key priority areas – e.g. spiral development, robust and resilient supply chains, and developing a new alliance with industry.
