Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill

My right honourable friend the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice (Kenneth Clarke) has made the following Written Ministerial Statement. I have today arranged for copies of the Government’s response to the report of the Joint Committee on Human Rights to be placed in the Libraries of both Houses. The response was published on 30 January 2012. The committee issued its report on 19 December 2011. I am grateful to the committee for its work in relation to the Bill.
